Friends as we know nowdays girls as well as boys both are flowing with engineering and management fields for their secure career but another great field is "MASS COMMUNICATION" where students can find their bright future. Mass Communication engages a variety of TV, Radio, print, including engaging with a variety of media journalism or Ad agencies. So those who are wishing to make a career in Mass Communication can grab the opportunity issued by the Indian Institute of Mass Communication. The Institute has recently ordered various PG diploma courses. The last date of application 8 May 2015 has been fixed and the entrance examination will be held on 31 May 2015 and 1 June 2015.
INDIAN INSTITUTE OF MASS COMMUNICATION - IIMC
Indian Institute of Mass Communication is one of the autonomous institution of department of Information & Technology under the Government of India. The IIMC offers PG diploma courses with many branches in various cities. These branches are New Delhi, Amravati (Maharashtra), Dhenkanal (Orissa), Aizawl (Mizoram), Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) and Kottayam (Kerala).
COURSES IN INDIAN INSITUTE OF MASS COMMUNICATION
IIMC provide approximately one year period for PG diploma courses. The applicant has the option of five courses. These courses are as follows:
- PG Diploma in English Journalism
- PG Diploma in Hindi Journalism
- PG Diploma in Radio and TV Journalism
- PG Diploma in Advertizement and Public Relations
- PG Diploma in Oriya Journalism.
The candidates applying for IIMC can apply for more than one courses. Since the paper of journalism is same for Hindi and English so candidate can only appear either for hindi or english.
There are other courses too where students can appear for exam. Students applying for multiple courses need to fill multiple forms for the respective courses and also need to appear for multiple exams for the particular course. IIMC provides great placement opportunities for their students in well known famous companies of different fields.
IIMC Entrance Exam will be held on 31 May 2015 at different centers. However Oriya Journalism entrance exam will be held only in Bhuvaneshwar on 1 June 2015.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AT IIMC
Minimum qualification for the various PG Diploma courses is graduation. Final year students may also apply for the same. The selected candidates from written test will be called for interview. The final list of selected candidates will be issued after the interview.
PREPARATION
Candidates need to be updated with the current affairs of that particular field and must have a great command in writting. Questions can be asked on current events for short answers. Read newspapers and magazines regularly for preparation. Take the help of TV channels and blog of different journalists on any current topic which will help to develop a deeper understanding. Don't forget to be practical and not artificial.
